WHERE TO MEET THE DOLPHINS

Oahu Dolphin Tour Locations

Our listed tours leave from two very different sides of the island. The west coast at Waianae is home to wild spinner dolphin boat trips, while the windward coast at Sea Life Park offers up close encounters with bottlenose dolphins. Here is what to expect from each launch point.

West Coast

Waianae Boat Harbor

🚚 Free Waikiki hotel pickup ⏱ 3 hour cruise 🐬 Wild spinner dolphins

Oahu's sunny leeward side is where wild Hawaiian spinner dolphins rest through the day before heading to deeper water to hunt at night. Boats run by Dolphins & You depart from Waianae Boat Harbor and cruise a calm stretch of west coast that most visitors never reach. Along the way you watch dolphins from the bow at a respectful, legal distance, then snorkel with green sea turtles and tropical reef fish.

Round trip transportation is included from select Waikiki hotels, so you do not need a rental car to get out on the water. The harbor sits at 85-491 Farrington Hwy, Waianae, HI 96792, about an hour from Waikiki by road.

Windward Coast

Sea Life Park, Makapuu

🔥 No boat required 👪 All ages welcome 🌊 In water and dry options

On the dramatic windward side of the island, tucked below the Makapuu cliffs, Sea Life Park is where you meet bottlenose dolphins in a controlled, hands on setting. There is no boat ride involved, which makes it a great fit for young children, grandparents, and anyone who prefers to stay close to shore.

Choose how close you want to get. Swim out and glide alongside a dolphin in deeper water, meet one from a waist deep platform with your feet on the bottom, or simply touch and feed a dolphin from a dry poolside. Every encounter includes Sea Life Park admission. The park is at 41-202 Kalanianaole Hwy, Waimanalo, HI 96795.
