There is nothing quite like floating in warm, clear water as a Hawaiian green sea turtle glides slowly past. On this snorkeling tour, you sail across beautiful Maunalua Bay on a 50 foot catamaran to some of Oahu's most turtle-rich reefs. It is a relaxed, scenic half-day that puts you face to face with the honu and the colorful marine life of the bay.
You will board a spacious custom catamaran and cruise to a clear snorkel site, taking in views of Diamond Head, Koko Crater, and the Koolau mountains along the way. Once you arrive, the crew gives a full briefing, then you are free to explore the reef at your own pace. Maunalua Bay has both shallow and deeper reefs, so there is something for every comfort level.
Beneath the surface you will find tropical fish, coral gardens, and, very often, green sea turtles feeding and resting in their natural home. Snorkel gear, fins, and a wetsuit top are provided, along with a snack and water on board. The tour lasts about two hours and welcomes snorkelers ages 5 and up.
Snorkelers should be ages 5 and up. After the crew's briefing you explore the reef on your own rather than in a guided group, so a little comfort in the water helps you get the most out of it. The reef is home to protected green sea turtles, so please keep a respectful distance and never touch or chase the wildlife.
This tour departs from Island Water Sports Hawaii at Maunalua Bay, on Oahu's scenic southeast shore, at 7192 Kalanianaole Highway, Suite E-111, Honolulu, HI 96825, a short drive from Waikiki toward Hawaii Kai.
Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours before the tour date and will incur a 3 percent processing fee. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice are charged in full, and no-shows are also charged in full.
