For about 20 minutes you stay on dry land while the animal care team guides you through hands on interactions, just like the experts do.
You will touch and interact with these curious, playful marine mammals, watch their signature behaviors, and pose for the kind of moment your family will talk about for years. Because it is a small group experience, spots are limited and often sell out.
Along the way, your team shares the story of California sea lions and the conservation work Sea Life Park supports, including the rescue and rehabilitation of these animals. Your ticket also includes free one-day admission, so you can enjoy the shows and exhibits before or after.

This is a dry land encounter, so no swimming is involved. The minimum age is 8, and guests ages 8 to 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult who is also participating. Please arrive one hour before your start time for the safety briefing, remove all jewelry beforehand, and wear only biodegradable, reef safe sunscreen. There are no restrictions for expectant mothers, and every participant signs a liability waiver before the encounter.

Guests of any age are welcome at Sea Life Park, but participants in the Sea Lion Encounter must be 8 or older. Any guest ages 8 to 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult who is also participating in the encounter.
Please arrive at Sea Life Park at least one hour before your encounter start time. If you are running late, reach out to the park as soon as you can using the contact details on your booking confirmation, and they will be happy to rebook you for the next available time. Missed encounter times are non-refundable.
